Abstract
The synthesis of nanotubes of molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) and tungsten disulfide (WS 2 ) was investigated. The preparation involved gas-phase reaction between MoO 3 and H 2 S in the presence of argon. The investigation showed that nanotubes of molybdenum disulfide were readily formed with MoS 3 and (NH 4 ) 2 MoS 4 in a reduced environment of hydrogen.
