Abstract
Industries have displayed a new vigor in applying microwave NDT techniques to new inspection problems. Microwave signals penetrate inside dielectric media easily. The depth of penetration is dictated by the loss factor of the dielectric material and the frequency of operation. Microwave NDT techniques are sensitive to geometrical and dimensional variations of a medium or a defect. Also, these techniques make possible the evaluation of the properties and composition of mixtures including the effect of curing in chemically produced composites.
