Fuzzy Modeling of Large Power Systems

Abstract

The fuzzy set theory is commonly used in analysis of nonlinear system. There are many approaches to build small fuzzy systems, but as the dimensions of a fuzzy system increase, the fuzzy rules increase exponentially. Thus, when a system has hundreds of variables, the use of classical methods to build a fuzzy model for the large-scale system becomes unpractical. In this paper, we take advantage of the topology of a large-scale power network to build the fuzzy model. Clustering method is used to build the fuzzy model. Newton-Raphson method and cell-to-cell mapping method is used to solve the fuzzy model.
