Abstract
The article examines the use finite element modeling for fracture criteria prediction in wiredrawing. During rolling or drawing process, any inclusion on the surface of the wire is introduced. It compares the damage done by a ceramic inclusion and metallic inclusion. Inclusion to wire diameter ratio is inversely proportional to the maximum reduction per pass possible when an inclusion is present.
