Diamond Reinforced Ceramic Oxide Matrix Composites

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Reinforced cordierite and alumina ceramic composites have been fabricated by the addition of diamond particles. the diamond particles are shown to retain the diamond structure without significant graphitization or oxidation. These composites are produced without the aid of the extremely high pressure previously required to retain the diamond structure. the physical properties of these composites are presented as a function of the volume fraction of diamond.
