Dr. Sajal K. Das is Daniel St. Clair Endowed Chair Professor at Missouri University of Science & Technology. He was Department Chair 2013-2017. In 2008-11, he was a Program Director in NSF CISE/CNS. In 1999-2013 he was a University Distinguished Scholar Professor of Computer Science & Engineering, and founding director of CReWMan at UT Arlington. In 1988-99, he was a Professor of Computer Science at University of North Texas. He was a visiting professor at University of Pisa, Italy; Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland; IIT-Kanpur, India; Fudan University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Zhejiang Gongshang University, China.

Dr. Das’ research interests include wireless & sensor networks, mobile & pervasive computing, distributed & cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, smart healthcare, security & privacy, biological & social networks, graph theory & game theory. He has published over 500 papers, 49 book chapters, 5 US patents and three books on Smart Environments: Technology, Protocols, and Applications (2005), Handbook on Securing Cyber-Physical Critical Infrastructure, Foundations and Challenges (2012); and Mobile Agents in Distributed Computing and Networking (2012). He is a recipient of IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award for pioneering contributions in sensor networks and mobile computing; IEEE Region-5 Outstanding Engineering Educator Award; and 9 Best Paper Awards. At UT Arlington, he received Graduate Dean's Award for Excellence in Mentoring Doctoral Students, Lockheed Martin Teaching Excellence Award, Academy of Distinguished Scholars Award, and University Award for Distinguished Record of Research.

Dr. Das is founding Editor-in-Chief of Pervasive and Mobile Computing journal, and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, and Journal of Peer-to-Peer Networks and Applications. He has also served as General and Program Chair of numerous IEEE and ACM conferences.
