About

Dr. Robin M. Verble joined Missouri S&T as Associate Professor of Biology and Ozark Research Field Station Director in August 2018. She received a B.S. in Biophysics from the University of Southern Indiana, M.S. in Forest Entomology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a Ph.D. in Applied Ecology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Her research focuses on the ecology of fire-adapted ecosystems and organisms. Broadly, interests are in insect community responses to prescribed burning in forests and grasslands. Dr. Verble's future projects will include examinations of the effects of mechanical treatments on fire intensity and behavior, effects of fire on insect prey and pest species, and the effects of climate variables on plant combustibility and flammability.
