Kristen M. Donnell received the B.S.E.E. degree from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, in 2001, the M.S.E.E degree from the University of Missouri–Rolla, Rolla, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, in 2010. Her Ph.D. research was conducted at the Applied Microwave Nondestructive Testing Laboratory (amntl). Dr. Donnell has been with the amntl since 1998 as both an Undergraduate and Graduate Research Assistant.  Her current research interests include modulated antennas/scatterers, material characterization, and microwave nondestructive testing.  Prior to starting her Ph.D. work, Dr. Donnell was employed by Raytheon Company, Tewksbury, MA, from 2003 to 2006 as a Systems Engineer and Electrical Engineer. She is currently employed at Missouri S&T as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
 
Dr. Donnell is involved with the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society where she served as an appointed member of the AdCom from 2007-2011, and is currently serving her first term as an at-large AdCom member. She served as the Graduate Student Representative from 2007-2009, and currently holds the positions of Chapter Chair Liaison and Distinguished Lecturer Program Chair. She is also a registered Engineer in Training (EIT) in the state of Colorado.  Dr. Donnell was the recipient of the 2002-2003 and 2006-2007 American Society for Nondestructive Testing Graduate Fellowship Award, the 2006 UTC Graduate Fellowship Award, and the 2006-2010 MST Chancellor’s Fellowship.  She also received the Materials Evaluation Best Paper Award in 2005, and placed first in the student poster contest at Third International Conference on Electromagnetic Near-Field Characterization and Imaging in 2007.
