About

Dr. Katherine Grote is an alumnus of Missouri S&T in geological engineering. After leaving S&T, she earned graduate degrees at the University of California, Berkeley, and then worked in environmental consulting before joining academia. She spent 11 years at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, teaching groundwater hydrology, geophysics and geological engineering, and working with many undergraduate research students. Dr. Grote’s research focuses primarily on using geophysical techniques for hydrological site characterization, with emphasis on vadose zone characterization and agricultural applications. She is looking forward to returning to S&T and starting her graduate research program.
