Dr. J. David Rogers received his B.S. in Geology from California State Polytechnic University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the Karl F. Hasselman Professor of Geological Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology as well as Associate Department Chair of the Geosciences and Geological and Petroleum Engineering department.

LCDR J. David Rogers, USNR was commissioned as a Navy intelligence officer in 1984, following officer training with the Marine Corps in 1974-76. His formal education includes a bachelor's in geology and geophysics and masters and doctorate degrees in civil and geological engineering. He is the recipient of 16 decorations and NAO wings. During his highly celebrated military career, Rogers traveled the world solving engineering problems. He then taught engineering at the University of California-Berkeley before accepting an endowed chair in geological engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He teaches a courses on creativity and problem solving for the U.S. Department of Defense and other corporate clients of the university.
