Dr. Casey Canfield joined Missouri S&T as Assistant Professor in the department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering August 2018. She previously was a Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Solar Energy Technologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she built innovative programs to connect practitioners and experts.

She earned a Ph.D. in Engineering & Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Her graduate research used experiments and simulations to quantify human behavior and improve the effectiveness of behavioral interventions in cybersecurity and the energy industry. Dr. Canfield has published research related to risk analysis, consumer decision-making, engineering education, and citizen engagement. Her research interests include risk communication, human systems integration, decision support, automation and energy.
