Dr. Alexey Yamilov is Professor of Physics at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He joined the Missouri S&T faculty in 2005 as an Assistant Research Professor. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2008, Associate Professor in 2014 and Professor of Physics in September 2021. Dr. Yamilov received his Ph.D. in Physics from The City University of ew York. He received his M.S. in Physics/Engineering, summa cum laude, and B.S. in Physics from Donetsk State University.

Dr. Yamilov's research interests and expertise can be broadly described as wave propagation in complex media. It spans the areas of condensed matter physics, optics and photonics. He conducts analytical and numerical modeling with a view toward experimental corroboration.
